Introduction

In today's rapidly advancing scientific and technological world, the medical field is no exception to constant growth. One of the main challenges faced by students and even practicing physicians is the accurate and precise understanding of scientific texts, which are often laden with complex specialized terminology. While these terms are essential for conveying medical concepts precisely, they may pose significant obstacles for individuals lacking sufficient linguistic background. Particularly, students from non-medical disciplines, such as English literature, who engage in interdisciplinary research require a deep understanding of these terms to analyze scientific medical texts effectively.

Methods

This study utilizes a literature review and textual analysis of specialized medical documents. Additionally, interviews and questionnaires were conducted with students and physicians to assess their familiarity with medical terminology and its influence on their comprehension of scientific concepts. The data were analyzed qualitatively.

Results

The findings reveal that familiarity with specialized medical vocabulary significantly enhances the understanding of scientific texts. Students trained in medical terminology demonstrated superior abilities in analyzing and critiquing medical literature. Furthermore, physicians with higher proficiency in terminology were more successful in communicating concepts to patients and colleagues.

Discussion

Based on the results, it is imperative to emphasize medical language education through academic courses and workshops. The integration of English literature expertise with medical knowledge can elevate the quality of interdisciplinary research. Developing specialized dictionaries and localized educational resources is also recommended.

Conclusion

Specialized medical terminology plays a pivotal role in better comprehension of scientific concepts. Thorough and practical training in this terminology can improve learning and research processes. Collaboration between the fields of medicine and English literature can pave the way for effective and impactful scientific advancements.
